Computer Forensics: Why Choose Us
The modern world
We rely more on technology than ever before.
The way we work and play is becoming more digitalised.
So at Riding Ltd, our computer forensics experts are working hard behind the scenes.
We are constantly updating our skills, expertise and technology to keep up: as technology sharpens up, so do the criminals who use it to exploit and cheat others.....
But we are always one step ahead....
When you hire Riding Ltd, what comes as standard?
- Specialist agents who are up to date with the latest technology
- In-house software you won't find anywhere else
- Agents who act in accordance with current UK law and police guidelines
Why is it important to hire an agent who acts in accordance with police guidelines?
Riding Ltd. guarantees that our techniques and corporate investigations involving computer forensics adhere to the Association of Chief Police Officers Good Practice Guide for Computer-Based Electronic Evidence.
Not only does this give us credibility and validity as an organisation, making us your first choice in terms of our professional reputation and integrity, but it also means that evidence gathered by our agents can be used in legal proceedings.
It's like having an accreditation for evidence... and with Riding Ltd. it is all done for you, from start to finish.
According to the official guide for the Association of Chief Police Officers, any investigator who follows their guidelines to the letter will 'optimise the credibility' ( www.7safe.com ) of their investigation.
So what are these guidelines? And how does Riding Ltd. ensure their investigators follow them?
The Association of Chief Police Officers' guide outlines four principles which must be followed in order for the investigation to be deemed admissible in court:
- Principle 1: States that no action can be taken by agents/investigators that will change data stored on a computer or other storage device (*1) that may be used in court
- How we do it: We ensure our agents are fully trained and understand a computer system/network before they intercept
- Principle 2: The person accessing computer data must be competent and able to explain and justify their actions
- How we do it: All of our agents are trained to a level of competence to deal with the technology they are investigating. Our specialist agents assess the implications of any planned action before they proceed. We take seriously our accountability for any intervention we action
- Principle 3: The production of a 'verifiable audit trail' (*2)
- How we do it: We detail and record every action thoroughly, so that each investigation will withstand rigorous analysis
- Principle 4: Investigation teams will be fully responsible for 'ensuring the law and these principles are adhered to' (*3)
- How we do it: At Riding Ltd. we ensure we have it all covered: from our preliminary planning and gathering of information before we commence, to our rigorous adherence to the four phases of the investigation: collection, examination, analysis and reporting.
At Riding Ltd. we understand how important it is to protect this fragile form of evidence. Computer evidence can be changed, damaged or lost altogether: so don't let it get into the hands of amateurs.
Trust our integrity and our commitment to constantly updating our skills and adhering to the police guidelines.
So, instead of asking 'Why choose Riding Ltd?' it may be easier to ask: 'Why not?'
