  • It lies north of the city of Derby, on a confluence of the rivers Rother and Hipper.

  • It is located on the A61, 6 miles from the M1 (via the A617 to J29 and A632 to J29A), and forms part of the Sheffield City Region.
  • Chesterfield received its market charter in the year 1204 from King John and around two hundred and fifty stalls can still be found in the town centre every Monday, Friday and Saturday.
